Potlatch Fund - 2020 Annual Gala - Meet Celeste Whitewolf

At Potlatch Fund our work is to honor, enrich, share, and protect Tribal culture and traditions - the source of our indigenous resilience and colonial resistance - our 2020 Virtual Gala theme this year. We'd like you to meet Celeste Whitewolf, a Potlatch Fund grant recipient. Potlatch Fund has supported Celeste in her journey to preserve and renew the traditional Native art of weaving through her project “Núun ken’ witnéewit – Our Way of Weaving. “I love that Potlatch Fund opened doors for us, and now those doors are wide open,” Celeste says. “All we have to do is find a way to walk through those new doors.” Registration to the virtual event is free: https://bit.ly/355lxia The 18th Annual Gala is Nov. 7 at 5PM PST. #PF2020Gala #RezCarpet

Meet James Jaime-Potlatch Gala

Meet James Jaime, grant recipient for the Quileute Language Preservation Project. "It is quite an extension project - when you are talking about going back ages. And making sure everything is right. As my Grandfather says “Make sure it is right. Because if it is wrong, it will be wrong forever.

Indigenous Resilience. Colonial Resistance. Potlatch Fund 2020 Virtual Gala

“Philanthropy in Indian Country is more important than ever, to reclaim what is lost and to build our communities,” says Potlatch Board President Amber Schulz-Oliver. “Whether you call it give-away or potlatch, we have always practiced systems to be able to redistribute wealth.”
