Emphasizing the need for greater support due to social and economic challenges faced by Native communities, Potlatch Fund works to educate communities and funders on these topics.
Historic Under-Investment
Native communities often experience systemic economic marginalization, the purposeful destruction of Indigenous economies, and continued lack of opportunities on and off reservations.
Access to Culture
Colonization removed access to cultural and traditional ways of being. Potlatch Fund invests in tribes and tribal programs working to connect our people to our cultures.
Misunderstanding
Native people face many misunderstandings around history, current ways of being, the realities of urban and reservation life, and the challenges of funding our communities.
