Power of Ceremony & Healing Grant

This collaborative, Indigenous-led grantmaking initiative supports ceremonial, cultural, and community-based practices that strengthen Indigenous lifeways, healing, identity, and cultural continuity.

The Power of Ceremony & Healing Grant is administered in partnership with our sister organization, Na’ah Illahee Fund, which serves Native communities across the Pacific Northwest.

Together, the two organizations seek to redistribute resources in ways that honor Indigenous values, strengthen community relationships, and increase access to flexible funding for Native communities throughout the Pacific Northwest, with an emphasis on the traditional homelands of modern-day Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana.

The Ceremony & Healing grant program will distribute roughly $200,000 in total funding throughout the 2026 grant cycle.

Each award can be applied for up to $2,500. Grants can be awarded to Native nonprofits, fiscally sponsored projects, and Native individuals doing healing or ceremonial work.

  • Application Launch: July 2026

  • Application Close: October 31, 2026

  • Review Period: Grants will be reviewed and approved on a rolling monthly basis throughout the grant cycle or until allocated funds are fully distributed, whichever occurs first.

  • Funding Notifications: November–December 2026

  • Grant Disbursement: December 2026

  • This grant cycle was created to support Native ceremony-keepers in their work to help lead, heal, and shepherd the community through hard times, personal strife, and different phases of life. We know that when we center our traditional ways of being, we feed our souls in the ways that the Western world has failed to do for us. This cycle is meant to support those who support community through traditional healing and ceremonies.

  • Native Individuals, nonprofits or fiscally sponsored projects who are working to support or uplift ceremony and healing in their communities within WA, OR, ID, MT, or AK.

  • The grant cycle is open for applications July 30-August 30th, 2026. Just fill out the JustForm application (link) to get started. You will create a profile for this and all future applications through JustForm. You will need- your EIN (or Social Security number for individuals applying), a narrative about the work that you hope to do with this gift of funding, and a narrative about the work that you do in the community.

  • Collaborative grant making is a pooling of funding from two organizations (Potlatch Fund and Na’ah Illahee). We have pooled our resources together to have one grant cycle with a larger impact than each organization would have had separately.

  • We know that our Native peoples are using our traditional knowledge and generational strengths to heal. And that healing takes many forms. Often our healing is tied to our ceremonies. These ceremonies remain a sacred space and time for our people to practice culture in a true form.

  • All eligible relatives are encouraged to apply. In the spirit of reciprocity, we will prioritize applicants who have not previously received support.

  • No, this is not required for access to funds, but we would love to hear how this grant supported you or your project! We understand the sacred nature of this work, and know that there are things that are not shareable. We may reach out to hear impact stories and or with survey questions. The better we can share your stories and our impact the better we can communicate this to our audiences to raise more dollars to get out to the Community. Please only share what is comfortable to you. 

    We will not be performing a traditional reporting process; rather we are seeking to hear your story. Sharing stories (or social media links and pictures where appropriate)  will serve to highlight impact and future needs. We welcome stories, pictures, feedback, and candid lessons learned at any time.
