:: DECEMBER 2004 ::

During our first 20 months of operations, the Potlatch Fund attracted more than $800,000

in grants from 20 different private and Tribal foundations and individual major donors, and received $15,000 in smaller contributions from more than 150 individuals.

This fall, we received two major grants to build the capacity of the Potlatch Fund. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation announced a $300,000 grant to be awarded over the next three years. This funding supports our organizational infrastructure and staffing. We have ambitious goals for our technical assistance and grant making programs that will be made possible by this generous grant.

We are also honored to receive a $200,000 grant from the Ford Foundation to be awarded over the next two years. This grant will directly benefit Potlatch Fund’s Native Art Program. The funding will support technical assistance and grant making to Native artists and art organizations.

The Potlatch Fund appreciates all of our contributors and looks forward to building relationships with many other foundations, Tribes, companies, individuals, and other donors. In addition to the Gates and Ford foundations, our list of foundation and Tribal contributors include:
